Partial Transcript: Arden's grandfather on his mother's side came to Manitowoc from the Polish Ukraine. His grandmother convinced his grandmother to go to America. His grandfather first went to England to work and save up enough money for the passage to America and moved to Manitowoc because he had relatives living there. His grandfather came a U.S. citizen in 1898.

Partial Transcript: Arden and his brother have a disagreement about their father's country of origin. Arden thinks he was from Lithuania and his brother thinks he was from Russia. His father's brother arranged for his arrival to America in 1907. He worked at a furniture factory when he first arrived in Sheboygan, but eventually quit because he could not get a raise.
